And last but not least, our two far too easy wins

Here are our two newly minted district councillors, veterans Cllr Brenda Taylor and Cllr Steve "Offal" Gazzard, returned unopposed to Exmouth Withycombe Raleigh.

They don't ever rest on their laurels and they don't intend to start now, but we can't help but wonder why the Conservatives, who usually stand everywhere against us, didn't stand against them this time?

We find it hard to believe the rumours that the Tory agent gathering nominations accidentally got several from outside the ward, because that would be just really, really incompetent and chaotic, wouldn't it? We prefer to think that they just couldn't face standing anybody against the brilliant Steve and Brenda, and we can see why.

We're just a bit disappointed not to have had a fair and square fight for these two seats- we totally were up for one!

Brenda and Steve will continue to be the excellent team they've always been, taking care of their area and its residents, and always remaining approachable.
